Dental Bridges
Fixed restorations effectively replace one or more missing teeth, restoring your smile's appearance, chewing ability, and preventing shifting.
A dental bridge is a fixed, non-removable dental restoration designed to replace one or more missing teeth by literally "bridging" the gap created by tooth loss. Unlike removable partial dentures, bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or dental implants, providing a stable and permanent solution. A traditional bridge consists of one or more artificial teeth (called pontics) that are held in place by dental crowns placed on the natural teeth adjacent to the gap (these supporting teeth are called abutment teeth).
The process generally involves two appointments. During the first visit, the abutment teeth are prepared by reshaping them to accommodate the crowns. Impressions are then taken and sent to a dental laboratory, where your custom bridge is expertly fabricated to match your bite and the color of your natural teeth. A temporary bridge is placed for protection. In the second visit, the permanent bridge is carefully fitted, adjusted for proper bite, and then permanently bonded into place. Dental bridges not only restore the aesthetics of your smile but also improve chewing and speaking ability, prevent surrounding teeth from shifting into the empty space, and help maintain the natural shape of your face.
