There are two primary uses for mouthguards:

Sports Mouthguards: These are critical protective gear for anyone participating in contact sports (like football, basketball, hockey, martial arts) or activities with a risk of falls or impact (like cycling, skateboarding). A custom-fitted sports mouthguard effectively cushions blows, disperses impact forces, and protects against chipped or knocked-out teeth, lacerated lips or cheeks, and even jaw fractures. Their precise fit allows for clear breathing and speaking, enhancing athletic performance while preventing costly and painful dental injuries.

Nightguards (Occlusal Splints): These are worn during sleep to protect teeth from the damaging effects of bruxism (teeth grinding) and clenching.
