Root Canal

Painless treatment to save infected or damaged teeth, relieving discomfort and preserving your natural tooth structure for lasting health.

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a highly effective and commonly performed procedure designed to save a tooth that has become severely infected or inflamed. This condition typically arises when deep decay, a large crack, or trauma allows bacteria to reach the pulp – the soft inner tissue of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels. Left untreated, such an infection can lead to severe pain, swelling, an abscess, and eventually, tooth loss. Root canal treatment eliminates this infection and preserves the natural tooth structure.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, ensuring you remain comfortable and pain-free throughout. Your dentist creates a small access opening in the crown of the tooth to reach the infected pulp chamber and root canals. The infected or inflamed pulp tissue is then carefully removed, and the inner chambers and canals are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and shaped using specialized instruments. Once fully cleaned, the canals are filled with a biocompatible material and sealed. After a successful root canal, the tooth often becomes brittle, so it is typically restored with a dental crown to protect it from fracture, ensuring its strength, function, and longevity in your mouth.
